We are very happy to announce that Project WEMIX (“We Even Mixed!: Colonial Ideologies, Racism Denial and Social Exclusion in Contemporary Portugal”), led by one of our researchers Filipa Madeira, has been selected for funding at the “la Caixa” Banking Foundation flash’s call FP24-2B Quantitative surveys in Social Sciences!
The “la Caixa” Foundation has a strong social commitment and vocation to promote progress and equal opportunities, whether through social action or activities of a social, educational, cultural, or scientific nature.
The WEMIX project has been selected as a 1-year project that generates, through a survey, representative quantitative data on phenomena of social interest in Portugal. The project explores how colonial ideologies influence racism denial and opposition to social inclusion policies. WEMIX project will conduct a survey experiment to assess citizens’ support for different colonial ideologies and examine how different levels of endorsement shape levels of racism perceptions and influence support for social inclusion and reparative public policies.
